Pickling these cucumbers: worth it?

We have a prolific amount of cucumbers coming in right now after never being successful before. We have probably 10 of these of this size. I'm thinking of peeling (because they're a little prickly), slicing, and pickling them (trying out canning for the first time). Good idea? Waste of my time?...
